It took me a while to warm up to the new book, because I had a hard time dealing with the change in format. I missed JK Rowling’s beautiful depictions of locations, characters, and the wizarding world. However, after a couple of scenes, I started to get used to reading Harry Potter as a screenplay, and I could see the story unfolding before me. While the story was wrought with plot holes ((view spoiler) ), I loved how it brough

Well.
I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. I feel like it wasn't a bad story, but it would have been a lot better if it didn't have to be considered a cannon Harry Potter book. It really feels more like fanfiction than anything else.

This is hard to rate, and I know it is not just me.
Partly, it is hard for me to really enjoy a playscript, I much prefer to watch. And reading this made me sad that I couldn't possibly watch for at least several years, waiting for it to come to America, or to be televised.
The other part, honestly, is that I miss J.K. Rowling's brilliant touch. The effort was sincere, and carried off well, but her ability to describe not only scenery but personality and age, was noticeably absent.
