I think this book was exactly what I needed when I read it. I understand that Cline is not the best writer but that does not mean that he is a bad writer. I greatly enjoyed the imagery and detail in this book and the world that it created and sucked me into. It was a quick read and quite a page turner. I felt characters were well-developed. This is a fun, fast-paced, clever read. I recommend it to anyone that considers themselves a nerd, gamer, or lover of the '80s. The future that Cline creates is so believable it's almost frightening. The world he creates in OASIS is fascinating. I caught myself wondering what kind of planet I would create. I can't wait to see the movie! ...more

I hate this book so much. I hate it so much, that I actually looped around into liking it a little just so I could go on hating it.

Really, it should be 1.5 stars, half a star for being occasionally, begrudgingly compelling.

I have a lot of words to say about this, but I'll wait til I get on a computer.
