I'm going to wait a year and read this again. The modern Satire of Soviet life makes very little impact upon me. The story within the story is much better, and though it claims to be merely a prequel, it's style and impact are so much better that it's hard to reconcile the two.

In the same vein as how the Grand Inquisitor is better than most of the Bros. K. ...more
