What Members Thought
Salman Rushdie’s inability to shut up and get out of the way and tell a story might have been cool back in the day, but it’s really grating in the 21st century to read it. This is postmodernism as gimmick, rather than literature - a metanarrative aimed at a trendy well read audience of the era in which it was written. The Ayatollah shouldn’t have bothered.
