Good overview of the implications of US foreign policy with regards to Islamist terrorism but could've used better editing. Blumenthal writes in a clear and readable style and exposes the blowback to the United States from their support for terrorist groups. I would also recommend Secret Affairs: Britain's Collusion with Radical Islam by Mark Curtis for an exploration of Britains overt and covert collusion with terrorist groups. ...more

A great summary of US meddling in the Middle East and Central Asia. I found the chapters dealing with Obama onwards the most informative as the news I read at the time was very confusing and was skewed towards the US point of view. Thanks to Blumenthal for this monumental work.
