Good read, shows how farcical the US occupation of Afghanistan was (often only resulting in the death or torture of people who were pro-US) and how the weak central government was steadily undermined by warlords essentialy functioning as criminal groups, often ushering in the exact same conditions that previously saw the Taliban rise to power in the first place.
Important read especially in light of germany recently classifying parts of Afghanistan as "safe to return", considering that the count ...more
