You've heard the praise for this book, the story of Olympian and POW Louie Zamperini, from better critics than I. I agree with all of it: this was an inspiring, well-researched story. I'm not big on war tales, but I was riveted the entire way through. It's also good to be reminded like this how small my problems are. ...more

This isn't my usual choice in genre but I had to read it for book club. I was glad I got through it. Very interesting though it was difficult to read. The violence and atrocities in the POW camps were just heartbreaking. ...more
