The beginning of the end. This is the first half of a novel and so, the author's note tells us not to expect any resolution. I expected a book with no action that just advances the plot and moves various characters into places for the finale.
Am glad to say, I was wrong.
The ending just blew my mind. The battles are of the scale not witnessed since Memories Of Ice. This is Erikson at the top of his game. And the book ends on a massive cliffhanger. The sad part is, I don't think there can be a ...more

amazing, wow, amazing again... first half of the grand finale that I devoured in less than three weeks, which, when considering its vastness (I think it is even longer than Toll The Hounds for Hood's icy balls on a skillet :D), it quite something... there was tons of action, of revelations, many assumptions simply shattered, and while some of you might disagree with me, the most memorable scene in the whole thing for me was (view spoiler)
