what to say? the siege of y'ghatan was one of the best moments since the Chain of Dogs IMO... Telorast and Curdle awesome, although too sparsely used IMO... and oh man oh man... that chapter somewhere towards the end, like 90 pages of almost constant action, damn, I stayed up till 3:30 am (having to get at 6:30 am), just to see how it turns out... and loved the funny ending of the epilogue... kudos also for Hellian :D

Another great read from Erikson's The Malazan Book of the Fallen. As expected, it answers a lot of questions and raises more. The 127 page chapter about the "siege" at Y'ghatan is the best piece of writing in the series yet. Sure, things get slow in the middle but that is to be expected of a book this long. And a transition book at that. Erikson draws many story-lines from the previous books and weaves yet another rick tapestry. The ending is worth all the setup and slow pace of the middle ...more
