Yet another great tale of The Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson. Wasn't sure how it was going to be on another continent, but I trust Mr. Erikson's instincts. He never lets me down.

While the writing was of the normal excellent quality delivered by Erikson in his Malazan series, the book will always be classified as the most frustrating book I have ever read. This isn't because of the writing which as I have already said is the great Erikson standard, but because the kindle copy that I received never showed any clear distinction when the point of view or scene changed. It was weird going into an entirely new timeline and a different set of people's stories, but after general weirdness it turned out really well. It introduced two characters which quickly became some of my favorite in the series in Tehol Beddict and Bugg. It also gave some story to Trull Sengar who was introduced the previous book. All in all a worthwhile addition to the series.
