This is quite frankly one of my favourite books ever. Although written a fair while ago it stands the test of time as an excellent post apocalyptic novel. I first encountered this novel whilst at school (many, many years ago) and have loved it ever since.

NO SPOILERS: This was a great story - I loved the premise and the characters. The story wasn't overly melodramatic and it moved well for a story that was written in 1951. Mr. Wyndham treated the scenery very accurately and his writing was excellent. He portrays a very believable landscape throughout the entire story and blends the characters relationship with the scenery expertly. I really liked this book - an added bonus was that I learned a great deal from the story.
