Twelve years after the end of the zombie war a journalist is interviewing a vast cross section of the world's survivors.
Intensely well thought-out and plausible account of the social, political, financial, and emotional effects of a global zombie apocalypse; I feel like I need to take a college course on world politics and then re-read it to fully get the most out of this book.

I did NOT like this as much as I had hoped. In fact I did stop reading it. I had to put "read" in order to get it off my "currently reading" list. It is basically testimonies given by various people around the world and is absolutely NOTHING like the movie. Which is usually a good thing, but in this case the movie was fairly good and entertaining. This book just bored me. Sorry, and I did not finish reading.

If you have any interest in zombies, this book is for you. The author creates a convincing narrative by stringing together usually unrelated individual interviews. War profiteering, zombie imitators, children left to fend for themselves, the military complex, why some governments collapse and others rally, are all explored in detail. Alternately chilling and thought provoking.

A fantastic read, full of real emotion and detail on what could be, if Zombies were a reality and how unprepared anyone would really be for such a thing to happen. I like the perspectives of the people that are explored, each viewpoint has it's own horrors and triumphs and loss to recount.

Wow...this book was really, really good - I would've given it 6 stars if that was allowed. This was my first venture into the zombie genre and I wasn't disappointed. This was an unbelievably exciting story whilst being extremely well written in an uncanny style. I think if you have an expectation about this book...you'd be wrong. The stories, people and the events as portrayed in the book were filled with the perfect amount of everything - science, humanity, adventure, violence, gore, respect, t

When I started this, I wasn't sure if it was going to be my kind of read due to the interview style structure. But I really did enjoy it. Some stories were not quite as interesting as others but over all it was a very interesting account. The only thing that irritated me was it didn't give a cause of the zombie infection. That kind of drove me crazy. There really wasn't even a theory.

I love the overall world view of an enemy that doesn't discriminate and how different cultures handled the crisis.
