Lovely writing, interesting characters, but it left me wanting more. I sped through this book mostly because I was fascinated by Isabel Archer's desire for independence during a time when women had very little. I loved that he made Isabel real enough to realize that there was more to life than seeing the world. I was dying to know what she would do, what path she would choose. I considered the first portion of this book refreshing, beautifully written and intriguing. The beginning portion of the second half left be feeling bored, dissatisfied and irritated. The last page resulted in the book flying fiercely through the air at the nearest wall...
