Lovely writing, interesting characters, but it left me wanting more. I sped through this book mostly because I was fascinated by Isabel Archer's desire for independence during a time when women had very little. I loved that he made Isabel real enough to realize that there was more to life than seeing the world. I was dying to know what she would do, what path she would choose.
