I read this book as an undergrad and remember loving it. I had to read it again as a graduate student and I still love the book. I had forgotten how long it took for Eppie to show up, though. This is such a quick read, too.
When people ask me what it's about, I say it's basically Scrooge in the country.

LbW selection, February, 2009. Had fun with students who participated online. The story, however, seems light weight at this point to me. I know I did also read this one years and years ago.
