20% in, this is feeling like a failed experiment, the only effect it's producing on me is irritation, and I don't have time for this now. Maybe I'll give it another chance someday, or maybe I won't.
The biggest source of irritation is that it is written in first-person from the--can I call it a "point of view"?--but he has no point of view--but anyway, it's narrated by someone who clearly doesn't know and can't know any of what he's narrating.
