I was not overly impressed with this but I always wonder how much better it would be to read the book (any book) in the original language.

summary This play is set in the aftermath of the Trojan wars. These events are viewed from the perspective of the Trojan Women. It shows their grief at the death of their husbands and children, following the defeat of the Trojan armies.It shows their fear of their future and of their future life in slavery.

I really didn’t like this play very much, though it did have a few moments that were somewhat interesting — in particular when Helen attempts to defend herself by blaming everyone else. She concludes “...[I] should for what has been done wear garlands on my head” rather than be on trial for her life.
