Não esperava dar mais de três estrelas a este livro. Acho que era mais um daqueles livros sentimentais para adolescentes.

No entanto " The catcher in the rye" provou ser um livro brilhante tão bomo "Call me by your name". Relata um procurso de um jovem em busca de encontrar um rumo certo na sua vida. É inteligente, bom leitor, amante dos grandes clássicos. Mas envolve-se em muitos problemas e nunca gosta das escolas onde fica.

Honestly, this is one of the most disappointing books I’ve read this year. It started off really well, I enjoyed the first 4 chapters or so. I even shared some quotes here. It gave me some “The Great Gatsby” vibes (actually, it is mentioned in this book by the main character) which I was looking forward to. However, the book got so boring... I have to admit that I somewhat disliked the style of writing, in a way, but I did like the theme of the story. Also, I found myself sometimes disliking Holden, and other times, I did seem to like him. He is one of those characters that I find understandable, though, even with his inconsistencies.
