Arthur Pepper is struggling with his wife's death, learning how to live alone when he discovers a charm bracelet in an old boot. He realizes it was a part of his wife's life that he never knew about. He sets out to discover where the charms came from and more about his wife's past.

I enjoyed this journey, but struggled to really love it. Maybe it's because I've read too many of these types of books. Old man is lonely and finds out stuff about his life or the life of the dead spouse. I found some

I must say that I adored this book. It was a nice departure from the heavier books I've been reading lately. Arthur was a great character and I rooted for him to come out of his shell. It was laugh-out-loud funny in a few places. ...more

He discovers a charm bracelet he never knew his wife had and he begins searching out clues to each charm and discovers a whole new part of his wife he never knew. As he travels to places his wife had visited before she was married to Arthur, he meets new people and discovers that his own life has been empty. A good story and gets a person to thinking what he ...more

I throughly enjoyed this book and had several moments of laughing out loud. It is debut story of a recent widowed British gentleman, who comes across a hidden charm bracelet of his deceased wife. Who would have imagined such power of a gold charm bracelet? Arthur sets out to find the meaning of each and every charm and along the way discovers a new meaning to life for himself.
