4 who’s afraid of monsters stars

Are you afraid of monsters? Children are often obsessed, and some are frightened of monsters. We used “monster spray” at my house to keep them away.

This atmospheric tale takes us back and forth between the childhood of a set of siblings and the more present day. Vi and Eric are being raised by their grandmother, she’s a famous psychiatrist and they live next door to the treatment center, the Hillside Inn, that she runs in Vermont.

A captivating thriller/mystery! It begins in 1978 with two children, Vi and Eric, being raised by their psychiatrist grandmother on the grounds of an insane asylum. What a great beginning, right? It only gets more interesting from there. One day their grandmother brings home a pale, silent little girl covered in bruises and she becomes their sister. They accept her and she joins in all their games, including their monster-hunting club.
