What Members Thought

This book is written as a series of short stories, all of which give the reader some insight into the main character, Olive Kitteridge. I found this book quite thought- provoking. It was easier for me to read just one or two short stories, then reflect. My take-away is that family members, friends, neighbors and acquaintances might have quite different perspectives on a person. I read this because I heard it was similar to The Twelve Tribes of Hattie, which I loved. While I see the similarities, this one didn't move me nearly as much. I still enjoyed it, and do think it worthwhile, but it didn't blow me away. In fact, toward the end, I found myself having trouble staying focused. The characters and their life stories were pretty interesting and the chapters were well-written, but I didn't feel the emotional attachment that I felt with The Twelve Tribes of Hattie.
