Bryan Stevenson is my new hero. I heard him speak a few weeks ago and he was powerful, engaging, and drew me right into his cause for equal justice. This book expands on many of the stories he shared in his verbal talk so I really liked hearing a bit more about those stories.

I had to push through this. It made me angry. It made me sad. It made me ask why did I give up that dream of being a lawyer.
Oh my gosh! This book was such a gut punch. If you want to know anything about the blatant and systemic racism that plagues the United States criminal justice system, then please, please read this. It's absolutely abhorrent.
