5 grateful stars for this quiet and heartfelt novel that reached deep into my soul. I am struggling to capture the “why” of its brilliance for me and can only say that the way Moore writes about the weight of loneliness was a revelation. The story is told by two characters - a boy on the cusp of adulthood weighted by responsibility and fear, afraid to allow anyone to penetrate the surface, and a man trapped in his own home by his physical 600-pound size and the weight of his own unrealized dream
