OOH! Me gusto mucho! I was not a big fan of Me Before You, but this one was really different. Who wouldn't love a story with strong minded librarian women whom went against the stereotype of the typical house wife of the time? I loved the story and the characters. The friendships between the characters were touching. I couldn't put this one down (audio book version). A rare 5 star read from me! ...more

This was my first JoJo Moyes book and she did not disappoint! I tend to gravitate toward books that take place on the South and this one takes place in the 1930’s, which also drew me to it.

Alice Van Cleave is a young wife trying to fit in, in her husband’s rural Kentucky town, having originally been from England. She volunteers for the packhorse library at a town meeting hoping to get to know other women and put herself out there. You meet some of the strongest women with the packhorse library.
