A beautifully written novel based on a true story. Burial Rites captivated me with its poetic depiction of a woman condemned to die for a murder she and two others committed. It's a tragic tale told so convincingly that I could feel the coldness of the landscape as well as the deep loneliness of Agnes, the convicted woman. A great read for anyone interested in a lyrical dramatic saga.
