I enjoy her books!

Perhaps I missed something here but I felt this Pulitzer Winner lacked in many ways. In a disjointed, spastic way, we are thrown forward and backward in time, and left trying to piece together the history of a house and the families who lived there. I was 50 pages in and not loving it, then I had a sleepless night
picked up the book , the story was flowing and I was mesmerized by the
history of the house and its occupants. Making me think of my
relationships and all the things we shared. I love a book that
can open up your bottled up thoughts and feelings.

Your usual Anne Tyler goodness, breathing with the reality of family life. I like that this one was so new, set in the Baltimore of today, although there are parts of the book that skip backwards and forward in time. The character of Denny, I feel, was still unresolved by the end of the book and that irked me. Abby, though, was a classic Anne Tyler character through and through. If you like this author's work, then this is another gem.
