"There ain't nobody in the world like book people."
This is a story that reminds me of all the reasons I love to read. And if you don't like to read, read this book and THEN tell me you don't like to read. Everything about this novel is so charming and quirky - it was instant love. I couldn't put it down and read it in 2 sittings. This is a captivating little book with a heart.
A.J.Fiskry is the owner of an independent bookstore on an island off of Hyannis. He is a grumpy, irritable widower in his 40's whose life turns around when he adopts a two year girl and then meets the love of his life. Unfortunately, the ending is sad and left me deflated.

I loved, loved, loved!! this story.
It's a gentle story about a book store owner, the baby he raises after she's left in one of the aisles in his bookstore, relationships, and of course, books! All a perfect combination, for something sappy, well-written and completely nice!
Yes, nice; it's what I needed right now and I hadn't realized just how cynical and "hard-edged and hard-hearted most of my reads had been in the last few months. This story was pure "let go and just come inside for awhile".
