My heart loves this book. For everyone out there who thinks reading is boring, or unfulfilling, I want to throw this book at you. This book perfectly sums up what it feels like to LOVE reading, to LOVE books, and everything that goes with them. The smells, the pages turning in your hands, the excitement over new releases, the genres, I could go on and on...

I may not have read had it not been for my friends here on Goodreads who raved about it and I would have missed so much if I had not read it. From the beginning this book drew me in. The characters are portrayed well. A.J. Fikry is one of those characters that work better on the page than in real life. A bookshop owner, he loves the books but not people. Nic his wife had been the people person. He is still struggling to come to terms with her death. Fikry is grouchy and difficult to deal with an

This over-hyped novel disappointed me from page 10 onward.
Firstly, it is filled with literary references and name-dropping which had the lovely effect of making me feel inadequate and ill-prepared, during my leisure time no less, for being its humble reader.

I loved the characters in this and it's a great story - the perfect mix of heartwarming, with a touch of mystery, and some tragedy thrown in too. It's a quick, pretty light read without being total fluff.

I loved this book, I have been putting off reading the end because I didn't want it end. I loved the characters, especially A.J. Fikry, he's a snarly book store owner in Alice, the only book store in the town. I love him because he's so snarly, but he loves and loves deep. The writing was good, the ending was good and sad all in one, but I loved this book.
