Highly recommend this to anyone that loves high fantasy set in an alternate world with a different magic system, intriguing magical critters and immortals, and some adult themes (though nothing TOO racy). It's the first in a quintet, since she ended up splitting the last book into 2 separate novels, hooray for extra scenes!
