I'm not sure how to review this book without spoiling it. It's an interesting fairytale of wizards, witches, towers, magic, dark woods, queens, princes, etc. I enjoyed it quite a lot, and it was well written. I'm giving it four stars instead of five because it didn't pull me into a magically created world as much as I hoped. ...more

Agnieska is a valley girl who enjoys the natural world and village life with her family and best friend. But a dark power hangs over the village, which exacts a high price in exchange for holding back the malevolent force of the Wood, and one day, all her expectations are upended. It’s a coming of age story with magic, love, friendship, political intrigue, war, and adventure. Believable character arcs & relationships. Loved it!

Wonderful!

An enchantment of story. I believe the characters, the plot and plight. Love how it ebbed and flowed. Beautiful, with an ending that was perfect, even if I wanted it to go on and on.
