*****SPOILERS*********
I know the series TrueBlood and the books are separate. I know they stuck pretty close to the first book and then branched out to a completely different storyline. That being said, I can't help but think about the ending of True Blood and the ending of the books. The ending of the books to me is more hopeful, more mysterious, more empowering about what happens to Sookie. I felt like the True Blood series they wrapped up with a nice bow and closed it. The final Sookie book:
Honestly, not as horrible as I have heard.
That's the quick review. Keep reading if you want to hear me ramble.
This was one of the first UF series I read. I looked forward to each new release and devoured it in a day only to wait another year (impatiently, I might add) for the next installment. Then the last few books were not as enjoyable and I jumped ship before finishing the series. My book memory has many holes in it and years down the road, I have forgotten most of thos ...more

I haven't felt so into a series in a long time. I enjoyed this so much, I flew through the series.

3.5 stars.
There is just something I could not get about this final installment of my four year love affair with this series. Was it less epic than expected? Maybe. Was it because the villain(s) were not interesting? Perhaps. Was it because the man Sookie sort of end up with was not my choice? No, actually my wish has come true *smirk*
It was lackluster. It feels more like a filler than a finale. The suspense feel that I get when I read the first three or four novels (even the last one, Deadlocke ...more

Well, I think it was a good ending for Sookie. I enjoyed it. Lots of winding up with old friends, and a maybe happily ever after.

Only a 3.5 for me, probably one of the lowest I've ever scored, however I was just very disappointed with this one!
