What follows is a story that manages to pull everything together with action and twists at every turn.

I have to admit, this was by far not my favorite book in the series. I thought it started a little slow and it took me a while to get into. Ok, who am I kidding, I never really did get into it. I absolutely love this series, and in comparison to the last book, I thought this one was lacking. There were a ton of twists and turns, which I normally love, except around page 200ish, the book gives you a serious clue in the form of one sentence, and through that sentence I was able to put EVERYTHING together. I don't read spoilers in reviews because I want to be surprised, but I felt that this book held no surprises after the MASSIVE hint it dropped. I was reading the book waiting for the characters to catch on to what I already knew. Don't get me wrong, I loved the wrap up in the end, and loved certain conclusions that were reached, but at the same time, I thought that some of the conclusions contradicted parts in book 1.

All that said and done, it was a great ending for what was originally written as a trilogy. My favorite parts of the book were the complex relationships between the characters. There were a lot of satisfying situations that made me very happy. And I loved how much the characters grew from the first book to the third.

Ok, ok, this review might be a little hard on a great series. I'm more or less just upset that a great surprise was ruined for me by a "hint" dropped early on. I've read other reviews and for those that missed the hint, the book was stellar. And as much as this wasn't my favorite book, if you read this series, you have to at least finish book 3 to get the full experience, so yes, I still highly recommend reading it. ...more

I have been totally swept up in this world of gothic mystery. I even fell a little bit in love with Jace and I don't really go for blondes! pity that I guessed at most of the twists correctly, but even still I enjoyed every page. Loved it !! ...more
