What Members Thought

By the end of this first book, I'm mainly feeling intrigued. I still don't understand the magic system, but I'm very interested to continue reading to find out more. The characters are only somewhat engaging; the lack of warm, trusting relationships definitely hindered my ability to enjoy them, at times. I don't know what it was that made this book so boring for me. I found it extremely boring even after finishing 43% of the book (so it was not the world building) and I tried to skim through the rest of the pages but couldn't do even that. I literally hated reading even a single page. Marking it abandoned. I don't think Robin Hobb's writing works for me.
