This was interesting both for some of the specifics of what's going on with the redevelopment of New Orleans and Detroit, and because it goes through the Marxist position on redevelopment and gentrification in detail. That said, I think it mostly demonstrated some of the incoherence in that position, and it's often hard to tell whether Peter Moskowitz's objection is displacement, aesthetics, or privatization...some of his concerns make sense to me, but I'm not convinced he really grasps the caus
