What Members Thought

I was totally skeptical of this book because I didn't like the title. As far as I was concerned:
Guernsey- sounds like a cross between gingham and some kind of pretend cute cow. The kind people decorate their kitchens with. Yuck.
Potato Peel Pie- not real, i.e. cutesy. Yuck.
Literary Society- blatant ploy for Oprah's attention. Yuck.

I don't have much to say about the book- I just finished it so I am still absorbing but I do know that I loved it. Within the first few pages I knew I was going to enjoy it and, even when the stories were sad, I was still aware of how much I was enjoying the book. I loved the characters and the the way the story unfolded. I would recommend this book to most people (I would say everyone but I know that not all books are for everyone).
