What Members Thought
I enjoyed this retelling of Greek myths by Stephen Fry. He’s clearly researched this very well and is a brilliant writer, he often tells these stories with a humorous edge. But about halfway in, I felt this was a bit repetitive - more of a sign of the myths themselves though!
Fantastic book with the perfect narration. Fry tells the stories from the beginning with just the right balance of humor and academics. Starting at creation stories he builds on the non pop culture heroes and villains to get to the ones we’ve all heard of. Don’t skip the Afterword, it’s one of the best 15 minute essays on how mythology is seen and told you’ll ever read.

I think I want to learn all my Greek mythology from Stephen Fry. This is just him retelling all the myths with occasional commentary from him. Very entertaining and approachable for those intimidated by translations from ancient Greek.
