Summarized her own book quite well.
It's billed on the back of the book as being about young love, and that's the theme, but it's a much more powerful story of depression and self doubt than anything.

This is the April Book for our local Book Club. I have to say that I was really disappointed. Maybe the timing of this book was not right. I just finished Educated where the main character was abused by her eldest brother as well. This saddens me beyond words as I have never met anyone who was abused by an older brother like the characters in both of these novels. I closed the book feeling “sad” which is not a usual occurrence for me. Maybe I will appreciate this novel more after I watch the ser
