What Members Thought
Can I say, I weirdly had no idea this was a memoir and was totally thinking it was a romance or something. Was that just me? I think when it came out I saw a lot of people who typically read lighthearted books about love were reading it and I wasn't really paying attention so I just thought this was that.

3.5 stars. The author did a great job capturing what it is to grow up between two cultures, the confusion of teenage relations with parents, and the bewildering grief that comes from losing someone with whom you've had a complicated relationship. At the same time I'm not sure what particularly I'm going to remember about this book, except that we all should really be nice to our moms. Which is probably enough of a moral in itself, right?
