Well, this broke me.
I’m not a gamer, but this book made me want to play the games these characters created. The games themselves were a character in this story.
One of my top 5 most overrated books of 2022
I love this cover, especially after reading about their video game...it's so evocative of the game!
However, it was becoming such a chore to pick this book up. I didn't like the narrative style or the characters. I can forgive one of those, but both is a dealbreaker.
Highly overrated. When I saw this was on the GR choice awards list I wished I could give anti-votes. So, of course, it won. ...more
