My review from October 2011:
Jacob has always regarded the stories his grandfather told him, about the peculiar children's home on a Welsh island where he grew up after his escape from Poland during the war, as nothing but tall tales. When he finds his grandfather dying after having been attacked by god-knows-what, Jacob promises him to visit the island. There he finds out that the tall tales, and the "gibberish" his grandfather uttered in his last breaths, are in fact all true.
