This book was...original. My first thought upon finishing was, "What the..." So the book was weird but still very readable. It's the story of a man lives in a world that consists only of rooms of statues the extend endlessly in every direction. There is also the sea and the tides that occasionally flood the halls. This book was a trip! If you go into it knowing that there is only one main character who documents tides and statues in a giant building merged with the sea, getting into it will be easier. I found it so neat that the building was labyrinthine, and the book structure was the same—slowly unfolding its secrets until the end, when you can literally and figuratively see a way out for Piranesi.
