What Members Thought
I think that this one ties with Pride and Prejudice for the best book ever! I liked Anne a bit more than Elizabeth Bennet, but she is older and has her “bleep” together. The words, though, I could get lost in the words and phrases of Jane Austen, and just the pauses in a sentence leave so much to the imagination! Mr. Darcy or Captain Frederick Wentworth- tough choices!
I struggled with this, as the first quarter was just so slow with exposition. There were a lot of characters and I had to reference a chart to keep them all straight.
I didn't enjoy this nearly as much as Pride and Prejudice or Northanger Abbey, but I think I'd benefit from re-reading Persuasion some day.

A solid Jane Austin book, though I didn't like it nearly as well as her others that I've read. I think this stems from disliking the entire family of the main character. Kudos to her for turning out relatively normal in a family characterized entirely by vanity!
