I started reading this after watching the television series. I enjoyed the book a lot even though I pretty much already knew the ending.
I HATE overly dramatic, tear-jerker type books that go into gross perverse details about death, abuse, sexual assault, etc. I can’t stand Jodi Picoult, Mitch Albom, V.C. Andrews, & the like. I appreciated how this book tackled serious subjects but kept its dignity! It was enjoyable to read.

This book was really entertaining and disturbing. Entertaining, because I so wanted to find out what happened, and disturbing...not because it is a murder mystery or because it deals with domestic violence, but because it is set smack in the middle of my current peer group, and not in a particularly flattering way. I recognized the beautiful moms from the bus stop, and the discussions about whose gifted child is bullying which other gifted child. I know the working mom/stay-at-home mom defensive
