What Members Thought

The different personalities in this book were delightful and well written. It’s definitely a cozy mystery and somewhat laid back, but there are so many layers to unravel. I did find it a bit confusing at times because so many characters were introduced and it required a bit of work to keep everyone straight. It took awhile for me to get into the book, but I enjoyed it in the end.

I kept hoping it would get better so I kept reading, and then I got to a point where I realized this book wasn't going to do it for me. I begrudingly finished and hope the next book on my to read list will be better. Thursday Murder Club is a book about a bunch of rich old people in a retirement community who enjoy looking back onto unsolved crimes, and then suddenly they have actual murders happen in their community that they help solve. Only two stars from me. Not because it’s a bad book necessarily. I’m not arrogant enough to think I can critique a writers skill or technique. I give stars based on my reaction to a book, what it does to me personally. Spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, and just pure entertainment value. This book did nothing for me in any aspect.
