As with all great tragedies we can have a guess from the very beginning how this will end, whether you are familiar with the mythology/have read the Iliad or not. A beautiful and romantic take on a relationship that has been the subject of dispute since the dawn of time (or since somewhere in the hundreds B.C.).

I find Miller's writing absolutely bewitching. I have listened, entranced, to both Circe and The Song of Achilles. At first I was really put off at a well known part of Achilles' myth that she altered, but it turns out that that aspect of his mythology is much more recent than Homer, so I understand and accept her choice. I will read anything she writes.
