What an important book!
I've known about this book for at least five years now but never started reading until my pharmacy students coming on rotation decided to choose this as the book club pick.
The book enthralled me, and I ended up finishing the book before their rotation even started. I do plan on rereading the book with a greater focus on the discussion guide.

My mother told me about this book and I had also heard rave reviews from others. It was definitely a well -written story about the woman whose cancerous cells were used all over the world to advance medical science. This book gets to the heart of the story: Henrietta's life and her family.
It was truly informative and eye-opening, but so very sad. I definitely learned more about cells and medical science by reading this. ...more
