Nick & Amy.

Two young aspiring writers who managed to find each other and who fell in love during warm summer nights, silly weekend trips and who bonded over all the whimsy and fun that NY offered them. Fast forward to their five year wedding anniversary and Nick is a mess and Amy nowhere to be found…

Gone Girl is a story about a marriage that is hijacked buy something twisted, a need to play and make people learn their lessons. It’s a highly intelligent and witty story with more plot contortions

Oh, oh, those people are CRAZY!
No review for obvious spoiler reasons. But I agree with a lot of other people and don't think it's a good ending.

Update 8/8/20: Wisecrack recently posted this take on Gone Girl (spoiler alert) and I think it does a good job of summing up the point of this book. BUT I would argue this isn't the way it has to be, and the reason I don't like the book is because it accepts this fate.

I want to go on record that I do not like this book. Yes, it is a page turner. I know a lot of you liked it, and I'm not here to judge. But, I ended up disgusted by both of the main characters and dispirited by the plot twists. I don't like a book with no heroes. That and the fact that I found it overly graphic sexually left me feeling yucky at the end and wishing I had stopped turning those pages somewhere along the way.

I really enjoyed this style of writing!

I could see this being made into a movie. Strange and somewhat unbelievable. It tries to be a psychological thriller, but after just having come off of a Stephen King novel, it just doesn't cut it! It was a fun read though! ...more
