Could've been a four star at least to me but I made the mistake of listening to it instead and the cuss and crued words ruined it for me. Way too many for me to relax and enjoy the book. I am a little sensitive but not sorry for that at all!

Update 8/8/20: Wisecrack recently posted this take on Gone Girl (spoiler alert) and I think it does a good job of summing up the point of this book. BUT I would argue this isn't the way it has to be, and the reason I don't like the book is because it accepts this fate.
Of course, I do accept that escaping this fate, with society being the way it is, might be nearly impossible, especially for heterosexual couples who are under intense pressure to behave a certain way in relation to each other. But ...more
