What Members Thought
I've been avoiding this book because it seems to have been extremely popular and successful- usually a recipe for disaster. However, trapped at home by a high fever and needing something to read, it seemed an easy option. I was prepared to hate it, and initially wasn't disappointed- within 2 pages the metaphors started to annoy me- "avian fluttering" of eyelashes? huh? I don't even know how to rate this. On the one hand, I was listening to this on audio, and I could NOT stop listening. On the other hand, the ending was super unsatisfying. So, 5 stars for really compelling writing, and 1 star for being unable to close, makes 3 stars average.
