This book got a lot of attention last year and I wondered if it would live up to the hype. The descriptive language was lovely, the story was sad and inspiring by turns, and the last section of the book is a police and courtroom drama.

I delayed reading this book for so long because I wasn’t interested in long descriptive passages about marshlands,no matter how beautifully written.

While I appreciated the apparent knowledge of the author about the science, I didn't love the story. The dialect constantly competed amongst the main characters ...more
